Phewf! February nearly done! What a start to the y Phewf! February nearly done! What a start to the year, many of us feeling both exhausted and hopeful at the same time!

Here at the Positive Planner we have been beavering away focussing on things like children’s mental health week with @the_positive_doodle_diary collaborating with creative souls like @musicaldots and @emilejclarke talking about expression through music and moving our bodies.

We spoke to @dr.mdc_psychologist about how to support your teens and tweens through this difficult time and also a fab conversation about how to support mental health when you are going through a separation with @familylawguruuk -all in all we have been very busy! All the while trying to support ourselves and practice what we preach with plenty of self care and compassion through this challenging time.

It truly does feel like hope (and spring) is here...finally!

So here is a pic of us in happier times (the launch of The Positive Wellness Journal) and letting ourselves feel that twinge of excitement about the possibility of being together and having get together a like this again!

If you are feeling lucky and hopeful why not enter our competition which ends very soon, it’s a good one!

And as always, if you are still feeling things are tricky for you-know that it’s ok and have a look at our resources and blogs to see if there might be something that helps you!

What’s our why? What makes us do what we do? Wel What’s our why? What makes us do what we do? Well, it’s our mission in life to empower as many people as we can to make their mental health a priority.

How are we doing this? By creating beautiful, inspiring and informative planners, journals, artworks and workshops that are designed to support mental health and wellbeing, promote daily positivity, encourage self-care and practice gratitude.
To put it in a nutshell: We want everything we do to bring support and joy into your every day.

Our own personal experiences have shown us how lonely and incredibly scary it can feel to go through periods of low mental health. Those times when it feels impossible to help yourself and even harder to find the words to ask for support.
Those times are the reason we’re here.

This video of our really captures the essence of our books beautifully. 💛

Our latest blog is all about why it’s so importa Our latest blog is all about why it’s so important to help children learn about their emotions early on in life and what we as caregivers can do to help them.

In this blog we talk about why is it so important for children to learn about their emotions from an early age. It’s really interesting to look at the benefits a child can gain from being afforded these skills early on. Here are just some of them:

💛 Normalising feelings helps decrease anxiety.
💛 The more a child understands about their emotions and how to express them, the less likely they are to use tantrums, aggression and other ‘inappropriate’ methods to get their feelings heard.
💛 When a child feels calm and safe, they find it easier to focus and maintain their attention, which is central to their overall development.
💛 Helping children understand what they’re feeling and why will empower them later in life in how they relate to others.
💛 Expressing, understanding and communicating our emotions successfully is a foundation of good mental health and wellbeing.

Head over to our stories for a swipe up, It's a 7-8 minute read and there is some really useful information you can take away 💜.

Hi Planners, Finn here. Today I am going to talk Hi Planners, Finn here.

Today I am going to talk about reflective journaling. Reflective journaling is just that, using journaling as a way of being reflective on anything. Sometimes how we felt and what we learnt from situations is not immediately obvious, which is why giving yourself some time and space to reflect can be a very powerful way to process. Perhaps you want to reflect on a situation or event that has happened? Or maybe you need to do some self reflecting to bring you clarity on how you are really doing right now? Journaling gives you a way to reflect on these things from your perspective, and even others. It allows you the chance to explore the past.

The Gibbs Reflective Cycle structure is a great way to illustrate the process of reflection, and can even be used as a journaling prompt in itself.

D E S C R I P T I O N : What happened

F E E L I N G S : How you feel/how others felt?

E V A L U A T I O N : What was good/bad?

A N A L Y S I S : What sense can you make of the situation

C O N C L U S I O N : What else could you have done?

P L A N: How can you improve, what next?

I feel like right now after possible one of the most testing 12 months many have experienced, some self reflection could be very helpful. I have given you a few self reflection prompts bellow for you to have a go with.

How was my mood today?

How was my energy today?

Where do my thoughts keep going, and what is this telling me?

Where am I neglecting my needs?

What could I try to do to look after myself better?

The positive impact of me looking after myself better looks like?

I hope this post encourages you to allow yourself time for refection and that the prompts help you map out some strategies to help better support yourself.

Sending love and light to you all,

F x

We have spoken about mood tracking over the last f We have spoken about mood tracking over the last few days and how helpful it can be in bringing your attention to patterns and triggers surrounding your mood.

We wanted to show you some other things that you can do to help you keep track of your mood and make it a daily ritual;

💗 Notice how you feel - Allow yourself to sit with how you're feeling and understand what those feelings mean.
💗 Write it down - This will help you to reflect back
💗 Note any triggers - It is so important for us to try and highlight what causes negative mood for us. That helps us to make positive steps to try and change those triggers.
💓 Think about why you are triggered - It might bring up some things you weren't even aware of.
💓 Use it to reflect on - Its so empowering to look back on your moods and see the journeys you have taken.
💓 Do some deep breaths - It always helps to ground you.
